Well if you ever visit Chicago and walk through neighboor hoods that Obama "herocially organized" you will notice that all the blighted abanoned buildings, beer cans , wine bottles and used hypo needles are neatly oganized in rows of two.
Nothing can prepare anyone for running a country, the only thing that gives you experience at being President is being President. That's why McCain's and Hillary's talk about "experience" was so ineffective, none of the Candidates had any. Historically the most "experienced" President we've ever had was Buchanan, who is also considered possible the worst of all, while the least experienced would arguably by Abraham Lincoln. In neither case was experience an issue, as it is unlikely to be now.
You are talking apples and oranges. Obama's expertise came from his abilility to organize communities to help themselves . . he wasn't in law enforcement. He honed his skills as a lawyer and ability to inspire people at the grass roots level .. he was able to discover exactly what the common ordinary person had to say about how they lived. He was often frustrated that he could not do more to help them in their situations and discovered very quickly that the only way to help people was through government .. he aimed high obviously . . Palin's alright but she is no Barack Obama when it comes to motivating and organizing mass amounts of people to get out the vote. She appeals to only a very narrow base and not to a wide majority. She will fail from lack of wide spred support.
