What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?

This is not a question inviting answers that trash Mr. Obama or explain whether you supported him or not. This is an honest question to all Americans (and anyone else who cares to chime in) on what you would advise the President Elect to do once he takes office in January.

Cheers. What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?Take legal action against the CEO's of the major offenders in the home mortgage crisis. They were defrauding their shareholders and walked away with billions.

Re-institute the usury laws that Mr. Reagan did away with - 25% interest is loan-sharking. Re-institute the interest deduction for credit purchases other than the home mortgage, that way people can actually afford to buy cars.

Reform the insurance industry - it's nothing more than the 1920's "protection racket" made legal. Mandatory insurance should carry a refund IF the protection is not used. Insurance carriers should be made to fulfill the promises they made, ie Katrina victims, not be able to hire high priced attorneys to fight paying legitimate claims.

Invest in the American citizen by giving them the ability to receive a functional education, vocational training and/or college, so that they have the tools to be contributing members of society. What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?
First off, thank you for an actual question.

I woud advise Obama to eliminate the corporate taxes, as we have the second highest corporate taxes in the world. Second, I would advise him to put the tariffs back on imported goods, and do away with the idea of free trade altogether. All of the wonderful things that were manufactured here in the 1960's are now manufactured over seas, and it is entirely due to these propositions of free trade. I would be on firm ground in saying it has cost us dearly. What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?Respect the individual rights of all of the citizens, when faced with the opportunity to 'veto' popular legislation when it crosses your desk. Consider how difficult it is for average citizens to afford the time and finances to resolve issues in the Courts based on the inaccessibility to the Justice system.

Then consider to sign it; it is Constitutionally negligent to ignore that most Americans cannot afford to resolve issues through the Justice system as it is designed.

It is a false assumption that the laws will be implimented free from bias, considering private interests.
I think he really needs to cut the 450 advisors. There is no possible way to listen to them all. He needs to make better choices in who he is listening to and stop giving the Clinton administration another chance to screw up our country even more.

He has already taken a lot of McCain's policies and made them his own now. I think that was smart. But he knew his own wouldn't actually work, he was just saying whatever he thought voters would like to hear.

So one other thing he could do is just come clean with it. Say that he can't possibly follow through on the promises he made but tell us what plans he has that will actually work. Quit with the popularity polls and make hard decisions. What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?I would recommend legalizing marijuana. It would reduce law enforcement and incarceration expenses for non-violent offenders. The government could get substantial revenue from taxing it. And it would be easier to keep it out of the hands of our children since store clerks actually check ID's.What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?
Be smart

Watch your back (especially Biden and Palosi)

Stay out of convertibles

Do what JFK would do. (except the convertibles)
"Don't worry, be Happy"...

Further, I would stress developing alternative enrgy sectors and technology as that is our next horizon. What advice would you give to President elect Obama in dealing with the current problems facing our country?
Back off, quit trying to rescue everyone.

The more gov gets involved the worse things get.

Stop thinking to rule the world. Call back forces from every where. Try to lessen hatred for America.
RUN! VERY FAST!
Come clean and list your donors.
I only have one thing to say.

Socialism is bad, mm'kay
Pray.
Develop a realistic 4 year plan to get the U.S. out of debt.
