It's not that easy. The biggest concern for people now a days is the drug smuggling problem. Before it was "Mexicans stealing jobs". There are many things that are in action right now. One there is a large Latin population that oddly enough do have lobbyist. The second is the fact that it's not just one boarder we are talking about but several like Florida, Texas, Arizona, California and every state that touches Canada.

The next is the democrats do what the Hispanic vote. Thirdly they don't want to mess with Mexican and American relations.

In the end you can't secure the border complete. There will always be people crossing illegally. People always think of Mexicans when they think of the boarder but no one ever thinks of Canadians or other nationalities that come from the north. If you haven't learned anything from history remember this; China built the largest wall in history in order to keep the Mongols out. In the end that didn't work.

Most Americans who are for securing the boarders refuse to acknowledge the fact that they themselves are ancestors of immigrants illegal or otherwise. Mexicans and First Nations have more of right to be in the Americas then any other race today. I'm not racists or prejudice but you might want to educate yourself first before you fall for the media propaganda. Not only that but you might want to research NAFTA and WTO. It's America's fault that there are so many illegals. Pay Mexicans decent wages for there hard work and they wouldn't have to come to America to survive.We are no longer an accepting nation but a combative one.
