Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?

Or has he told the far left to go take a big dump on themselves?

It's not like Obama needs the far left to succeed, as much as he needs independents and moderates is it?Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?Yes, Obama, once again, revealed himself to be a politician first and a statesman second (or third). I am becoming increasingly convinced Obama has no values. To think I voted for this guy. Then he turns around and hits our kids with another $700 billion in debt.

What a tone deaf fool.Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?
Yes. The Republicans acted up, holding the middle class tax cut extensions and unemployment benefits hostage. President Obama caved. The Democrats in Congress have been trying to keep the middle class tax cuts as the focus but the White House's efforts have made their attempts unavailing.

All sensible people should realize that unnecessarily extending tax cuts for the wealthiest further hurts the budget deficit situation. We all know that Republicans are not serious about budget deficit reduction, and never have been, but they need to be called out on their hypocrisy.

President Obama needs the support of the liberals who helped put him in office. Liberals have high incomes and are willing to supply substantial financial support when they鈥檙e enthusiastic about a candidate, as they did for Obama. Liberals are also willing to devote their time and effort when motivated by such enthusiasm. Caving to Republicans on issues such as tax cuts and the public option severely lessens that enthusiasm.Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts? Not really .....

There are enough moderate Senators in the democrap party who have to run for re-election in 2012 that knew they would be in big trouble if they didn't vote for this and we had 2 more years of miserably failing democrap policies keeping the economy down. They will vote for this to try to save their seats.

The hard left loser libs will be able to go out there and vociferously object to the plan, vote against it, and save their seats too. It will still pass and the democraps will be able to campaign in their districts safely based on the vote they took.

Plus they can crow about getting lazy bums 13 more months of unemployment. And yes, I am well aware that many people on unemployment can't find work, it took me almost a year to find full-time work. But there are a lot of people who would prefer the unemployment check, some food and energy assistance, and whatever else they can mooch. They are part of the democrap voting base and this was their payoff.
The middle class lost yesterday. Take Warren Buffet. He has real estate holdings. He gets a tax break and insurance that renters won't be delinquent on their rent. Yesterday was a win-win for the rich. They win at both ends.

And Buffet didn't even want it!

They're not tax cuts. They'd be more accurately termed, tax bonuses or corporate welfare.Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?I dont see how anyone can effectively argue against my accusation that Obama is a secret Republican......from the moment he was elected and started making appointments, I started getting a tingly feeling that he had lied to us....and each time there is a major issue that comes up ..he does the same thing, he talks about Republicans and how bad their policy preference is....he lambastes them and then he jumps right in bed with them and gives them what they want...even when he really has the power and his party has the power. It appears that Obama has not seen a policy yet that he cannot capitulate to Republicans on.Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?
That might be true. You understand that only 22% of registered Democrats consider themselves Liberals. I am for our Benedict Arnold candidate stepping down. I myself like Tom Daschle, a true Progressive. we'll be stuck with the compromiser though probably..%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; CORRECTION: 22% of all registered voters.
To be honest, I think Obama has betrayed his base. He has proven that he has no plan of his own that he truly believes in. If he did then he would have never compromised like that. I am glad he did, but at the same time I can understand the left's outrage at him over it.Has President Obama undermined the efforts of the Democrats to hold the line on tax cuts?
He's reduced our national income and thus made no effort at balancing the budget or bringing down the deficit. Looks like both parties talking points have gone down the drain.
no, I think he is holding his ground as a classic Democrat. I don't like it, but then again I don't like Manischewitz Wine either, but I can still recognize it when I taste it.
