Obamacare, amnesty, cap and trade, financial reform, etc these things are going to cost a LOT of money, billions and billions of dollars.



But Obama also said he was going to lower taxes for 95% of Americans, so the 5% remaining will pay for everything, do they really have that much money?



Also consider that a recent study discovered 48% of Americans pay little to no taxes, (look it up on google)



and what if the rich people decide to move some place where they aren't taxed to death?How will Obama pay for all the reforms and bills he wants?Simple: You and me brother.



On a side note: If Cap %26amp; Trade passes (and we better pray it does not), the resulting carbon credit auctions will send the price of kilowatt hours through the roof which will guarantee the federal government takeover of the energy industry.

Easy. He'll just cut taxes. Same as Republicans do for their wars, imaginary weapons systems, and treasury give-aways to millionaires.
Same way all previous administrations did - by getting funding from Congress.
The top 5% have received repeated tax cuts over the last 20 years.



The middle class tax burden is the lowest that it's been in over 2 decades, then Reagan came along and slashed taxes, sold off the American governments assets for a fraction of their value, and increased spending that began America's descent into bankruptcy.



Those 48% of Americans don't pay Federal Tax. When they pay their phone and electricity bills, they pay taxes. When they fill up their cars at the gas pump, they're paying taxes. They pay sales tax, if they rent they help pay their landlords federal taxes. They pay taxes. What you're parroting is a Fox News misrepresentation of the facts. If you actually read an article past the headline, you'll understand there is a lot more going on and complex issues can't be boiled down to a single sentence.



@LKN: Bush promised NASA money and the republican controlled house never gave it to them. NASA decided to end the shuttle program under Bush, it wasn't Obama's decision. It's only been 5 years, have you already forgotten your own history?

The rich earn more than enough to pay for those programs. If the rich move from America to avoid taxes it wouldn't be very patriotic of them. They should be putting the money they earn back into the system like everybody else. They were the ones responsible for the collapse of the housing market. Not only that most of it was probably fraud. I would have no problem with the rich paying for what they created. 48% of Americans get federal tax relief but they pay other taxes. Do you really think that soembody with billions of dollars should keep their money and people barely able to survive should pay more? Are you seriously that sadistic? It's a disgrace the way poor people are treated in the states.
The other day, a friend theorized Obamacare may be a "trojan horse" to allow Obama and his merry Democrat band to "chip-munk stock up" TRILLION$ to partially pay for his grander and yet revealed society altering "reform" plans--that will secure our role as "tax slaves" for generations on.



Frankly, Obama and his Democrat controlled Congress frighten me: These people know they've, for the most part, ended their political careers with their adamant passage of Obama-care---for what they hail, and actually believe, is done for the "greater good of America."

Health reform is paid for. You can actually look up exactly where the money comes from.

There will be other energy independence legislation though, hopefully.



Financial reform - this isn't going to cost much money.

Don't stress over this. If they manage to get a consumer protection agency, then sure we'll be paying some salaries.

But it won't cost anywhere near what a week of bush's war cost.

Taxes are lower for the rich under Obama as well.

He hasn't only cut taxes for the middle class.

The majority of wealthy are taxed LESS than the middle class, because they tend to make their money from investments which are taxed at 15% (long term capital gains rate).
