Is Obama telling our children that alcohol use is ok? In a country where so many people have such a problem with alcohol this is irresponsible. Many children come from homes where they have abusive alcoholic parents. Actually, he is promoting sitting down and talking about differences. Having a beer is a non-formal and "unguarded" way of achieving that sit-down.



But this speaks to a larger problem in your logical deduction, the "all or none" mentality. Sex is bad, have none of it until you're married! (whoops, kid got pregnant now what?) Beer/alcohol is bad, don't drink it! (whoops, little johnny just went to a party and got alcohol posioning because his parents never talked to him about responsible use and moderation)



Kids don't look at the president and do much anything they do, they're kids. However, this obsession over the man having a beer is ridiculous. I don't think Obama is an alcoholic, nor do I believe the professor or the policeman are. If someone is an alcoholic it is up to them to be responsible for themselves. If someone who does not have issues with a beer wants to have one then it is just plain nobody's business other than their own.

Wow, try to keep some perspective here. There is a world of difference between getting together over a beer to talk, and getting loaded to forget your problems. Anyone with an ounce of common sense should recognize this.
