You really have no clue why we have to be in Afghanistan and the Pakistan border? Really?!!?



Let's go back to right after 9/11 when Bush went into Afghanistan after Al Qaeda and the Taliban that backed them. Did you approve of that action? Most Americans did. Then, just when we were getting a grip on taking them apart, he abandoned that effort to attack Iraq - a country that was not an imminent threat to us. Consequently, Al Qaeda sent operatives into Iraq to join in the fight against us and they were able to start building back up their numbers. Those numbers were largely growing in Afghanistan where they were now safe from serious attack. Now they are stronger than ever and supported militarily and monetarily by the Taliban. That's one reason. The other is that the Taliban is about one good attack away from getting complete control of Pakistan - a nuclear country. Our citizens are freaking out, and rightly so, about Iran getting nukes. Guess what? Pakistan already has working long range nukes. And extremists are very close to having control of them. Do you really not care about that? Understand that the people in those groups are proud to die for their cause, and they would not hesitate to use those nukes to destroy people they see as friends of the Great Satan - namely us. They would start WWIII without batting an eyelash. This isn't nation building - that was Bush in Iraq. This is a desperate need to gain control of a situation that could imperil people all over the world by a trickle down effect. I also would ask that you remember that not only our sons are serving and dying for these efforts, but our daughters as well.
9/11 was bu11sh1t and so is the war on so called terror. US has been trying to find ways to invade and control these regions for decades.

the WMD farce was a slap in the face for the gov. They just don't know when to stop and call it a day. I fail to see any benefit or reasoning in this war.
I bet when Li'l Bush was fumbling the ball in Afghanistan, THEN that war was just fine with you!!
