Obama knew he could fool the American people---and he did and got elected to office. THEN he found his charms don't work well in high level politics: Welcome to the NFL ( not for long ), Mr. McPresident!



During his campaign, Obama appealed to what Americans wanted to hear. In the political arena--Obama now has to find the "win/win" ways to secure his ideas---because politicians only vote on legislation that scores THEM profit$. In high-level politics--there's winners AND losers; no one wants to be a loser to Obama. And to make matters worse: Obama's ego can not concede failure.



Take Obama-care for instance: The tobacco excise tax hike created to pay for it has failed, thanks to the successful growing "Tea Party" protests against Nancy Pelosi. Congress will ONLY support Obama-care IF there's $$$$ in it for them and their inner family circle for years to come; SCREW AMERICA--they ( that'd be us, by the way ) can be left out to fend for themselves.



A "successful" Obama-care program nets $$$$ for those who pass it---and WE become the big losers in the end......next to America--which stands to be irreparably damaged from it.



A President during his single term, whose ego would rather see America destroyed instead of admiting defeat is dangerous. That SAME President who gets a SECOND TERM, making him a "lame-duck" to do ANYTHING he wants is extremely dangerous.....

It's deliberate. Who in their right mind says that this debt is unsustainable, then adds on more debt then says this debt is unsustainable then adds on more? He has a mental problem.

What exactly is he doing that is so detrimental to the economy? This kind of question is long on conjecture and very short on facts. And it really depends on which economists you speak to. Many think he is doing the right things.
Your question about the economy really applies to our last president. How Obama is dealing with the the wake of the disaster is another story.
