If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?

How do you think that would have affected the presidency?

If he was asian, latino,etc.

More polarizing less polarizing. Lets not ignore the elephant in the room one of the biggest polarizing facts about Obama is not just that he is a Dem or his policies, it's because of his color.

I believe that in America there is this polarization between black and whites more so than between any other race in america and this is reflected in our bi racial president. If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?Again, it wouldn't matter if policies remained the same. He would be just as polarizing. Although I do believe he would have less support if he were a white man.If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?
No one could answer that question. If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black? If only he was purple, then nobody would have voted for him. FACT.
He wouldn't be President now.If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?I doubt he would have been elected. Sad but true.If Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?
An Amateur is an Amateur
Obama is a schmuck in any colorIf Obama was any other race or color besides white or black?
I'm all for NEVER finding out.
loons come in all colors
Without a doubt a lot of this nonsense is because of the color of his skin. There are more and more openly racist protests everyday.

Now they are claiming Obama is part of a socialist black power group that wants to kill whites.
i agree.

Im not a racist. Nor do I consider all Blacks my "brother or sister". People who are stuck in the past are a constant. if its not race, its religion, cultures or other polarizing topics they "get off" on. I dont!

I doubt if it were more polarizing if he were asian, latino or Greek.
Funny, I thought he was black and White. It's just that the white don't stand out.
It doesn't make any difference what color Obama is, it is how he is running this country. If he was as polarizing now as he was in his campaign, people would be realizing that race doesn't make any difference, but just do what we thought was going to be done? You can blame everything on race but it is not going to change how a person is. If your strong and moral and set in the principles of this country, you can be an ethnic race just do the job. I didn't vote for Obama, but did wonder if I should have, now I sure I made the right decision.
That has nothing to do with his ability to be Commander in chief...it's his inexperience and Communist leanings..it's his radical agenda and racist attitude that cause thinking people to distrust every move he makes!!!
If He were white we'd hear an uproar (or at least MSM exc. Fox report) that 45 Americans lost their lives in Afghanistan's deadliest month. You do realize Iraq and Afghanistan is "Obama's War" now, don't you, whether or not He "inherited" it? It He doesn't like it, pull them out. May as well screw that up too since that's what He promised during the campaign. Or did I "believe" too much?
If he has been any other race it still would have mattered to a Republican. They only support white males. True fact.
CONSIDERING HOW THICK AMERICANS ARE THEY WOULD PROBABLY HAVE VOTED FOR THEM.....On a serious note there were more asian-oriental-mexican ect that actually voted more for obama than any other party person.AS I SAID - THICK
who knows

I believe that americans will judge his actions more than his appearance any day.

If his popularity is gone, then the advertising power on the people had worn off

It has done its job- which was to get him into position

He has not fooled the people who originally cannot be fooled anyway.

But during elections all that was important was to secure the voting demography and the color issue was the better card to play then

It is actually a non issue

really

it merely served a purpose. so at given times it can be played

again and again

why?

it gets the same response every time

resentment

anger

emotion

feelings of entitlement

so

the racist card trumps

a lot of other cards.
The neo-Nazis would find something else to hate.

Hatred is the business of the depraved elements of the ultra-right reactionaries.

That and lying.
Americans would NEVER vote in a Latino.
A latino candidate would probably have enjoyed similar success. The same 'race card' advantage aplies, and, while hispanics do not vote in nearly so tight a block, nor so dependably along racial lines, as african-americans, there are simply more of them.

An asian candidate probably would have had trouble. There aren't so many asians as latinos, and, while they can be strongly biased by race, it's usually much more specific than 'asian.' The 'race card' has never worked as well for them, either, since they've consistently managed to succeed in spite of prejudice, particularly when it comes to education.

The 'polarization' between black and white is not nearly so significant, on the white side, as the polarization between liberal and conservative. White liberals, for instance, fall all over themselves gushing support for liberal non-white candidates, and overcome thier PC-ness to criticise non-white conservatives. White conservatives, similarly, manage to voice thier support for non-white conservatives, as well, though the left has the race issue so sewn up that such are comparatively rare.
I guess being polka dot isn't all bad...of course it's not all good either, as we are finding out.
Obama was elected because he is 1/2 black.
I am a supporter of Obama not because of his skin color or cultural background... I supported (and continue to support) Obama because I agree with his policies. He could be black, white, asian, hispanic, native american, middle eastern, or an 8-foot tall yellow bird. I voted for him because his beliefs on the issues aligned with mine.
