Why are the republicans so enraged that Obama intends to confront our enemies in a sit down coversation?

This is making me very suspicious. Is it making anyone else suspicious? It is ancient politics to have a sit down meeting with an enemy to work out solutions. It's the duty of the president to employ diplomacy, not force, as a possible solution. I am starting to suspect our current leaders have big secrets if they are attacking Obama for wanting to engage with "the enemy". It was McCain that said he would talk to Hamas and Rep's know this.

Maybe if Obama does this, there will be more unity, more peace and less war....... because innapropirate and poorly thought out polciy has no place in national defense. liberals assume that al qaeda and its supporters care about decency and rules of common sense. they dont and playing with the future of america doesnt sit well with most WORKING americans.Why are the republicans so enraged that Obama intends to confront our enemies in a sit down coversation?Because he seems to think it has never been done before! Because Republicans do not believe in speaking with anyone until that person/country has proved that it/they are worthy of us speaking with them. I think a little a diplomacy is a good thing. If it doesn't work, then there would be other options.
It's not only Republicans that have a problem with this. If diplomacy worked with leaders like the one in Iran, would we be having the issues we have today with them? Bush isn't the first President to have problems with the Iranian leadership, or the Koreans, or Cuba etc...



It is foolish to give credibility to a regime that is lead by a nut. Iran, Korea and Cuba only want us to sit down and talk if we are going to give in to their demands.Why are the republicans so enraged that Obama intends to confront our enemies in a sit down coversation?
