Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?

I mean look, there is a huge conservative movement underway. Maybe Obama was the thing that finally woke Americans up. Your thoughts? Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?I agree. Our politicians are NOT looking out for our best interest - they are looking out only for their power and how to further their power. Obama’s trashy influence is running rampant in our government today and it is the responsibility of “We the People” to stop this nonsense and get America back to actually resembling America.

It is our duty as “We the People” to FORCE our politicians to once again revert back to the writings of the Constitution. Nothing our corrupt politicians are doing is following the Constitution. We must FORCE these out of touch politicians to once again govern our great country based on what the Constitution says they can do and what they have no business doing. o_OWas electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?
Not really, the Conservatives have fragmented and all but destroyed the Republican Party. Most Conservatives want nothing to do with the tag "Conservative" now as it is now being used to denote the extreme right wing fringe and most conservatives are not extreme right wing. That is why only around 150 people showed up for the "Tea Party Die In".Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?I see a larger movement of independents who haven't been brainwashed by Goebbels-trained propagandists brewing at the moment. Whether you know it or not, 40% of the voting American public is neither Republican or Democrat, and most of them are socially conservative and economically liberal. In my state of New Jersey there are more independents than Republicans and Democrats combined.

I think this country is on the brink of a revolution and anyone who favors free trade and corporate rule is going to be within its sights. So I would be very careful with my words at the moment because everything is going to change, particularly when the average American finally comprehends the suffering he will be forced to endure because of our nation's insolvency.

Social programs didn't force us into bankruptcy, low corporate taxes, bankers and free trade has, but does this make too much sense for anyone to understand? If so I'll try to be more ideological in the future.

I don't even think people on the so-called right understand the foundation that American conservatism was based on. It was the principle of the individual's right to economic freedom, whereas Corporatism is based on the principle of the corporate right to economic freedom. The company vs. the individual, power in hands of the few at the expense of the many.

Think of it, how different is a corporation from the socialist government that people like you are always railing against? I am a paleoconservative because I believe in the old-fashioned, plain and simple capitalism of single proprietors and partnerships. I also believe that corporatism has more in common with socialism than it does with capitalism. It's such a pity that people today do not understand this and is why I consider people like Rush Limbaugh who in deeply in the pockets of their corporate (neo-socialist) masters enemies of true American ideals.
Bush and later Plain were some of the best things that could have happened to Dems,

because they woke them from their doldrums

I am surprised you guys aren't smart enough to figure out that each lie, each ridiculous statement, each hate-filled rant, just makes the GOP look a little more foolish, and pushes a few more (sane) people away. The ONLY ones left soon will be the craaaaaaaaaaazies :-) Your numbers are now down to only 20%, and falling like a brick.

I am a former Republican, scared off by the irrational, hate-filled, lying, fear-mongering, neoCon "loon-fringe", who have hijacked the GOP...Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?I REALLY don't like Obama, but when I think about it I didn't like McCain, Palin, both Clintons, both Bush's, Nixon, and a LOT of other politicians. Really, I view it as, we vote for people that have too little background, or we tend to believe things too easily. No, I don't really hate any of these people, because I've never met them and that would be unfair of me to say, but I strongly disagree with a lot of polititions and I think we should think twice of who they are before we do anything. Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?
He sucks as a President. all the liberals are pissed now because he isn't eneding the. there all mad now that hes breaking all his promise's. theres no way Obama will be re-elected. comparing obama to Romney,Palin and Ron Paul is like comparing caviar to a poptart. go GOP!
Obama has lost 65% of the Independents and 65% of the seniors and his young voters have vanished...without the Independents and the seniors Obama will be a one term President...facts are facts. Was electing Obama the best thing that could have happened for conservatives?
It could turn out to be a blessing if they don't say NO to such an opportunity. The way that have embraced the fringes of the party Cuckoo's they may still snatch defeat out of the jaws of a victory.
Yes, hopefully he does open american's eyes and i think that it was the worst thing possible to elect him, but i think a lot of people have finally seen the light and or truth
All I know is it was the worst thing that could have happened for America! And I voted for him!In 2010,you are going to see alot of these sorry s.o.b.s kicked to the curb.

Yes and America in General because Now this nation needs to get with the Program and stop acting crazy.
It is. They needed to be put in their place and I for one and enjoying each and every minute of it.
Let me know if you still feel that way once he is reelected.
No, I would rather have all my toenails pulled out than my country ruined. But that's just me, I love America.
