Should President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?

This is what Lawrence Summers has to say:

"The second way government assistance programs contribute to long-term unemployment is by providing an incentive, and the means, not to work. Each unemployed person has a 'reservation wage'鈥攖he minimum wage he or she insists on getting before accepting a job. Unemployment insurance and other social assistance programs increase the reservation wage, causing an unemployed person to remain unemployed longer."

Perhaps lowering uneployment is not a priority to President Obama, welfare state is.Should President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?He needs to realize that it's not the governments place to create jobs. They need to create a friendly business atmosphere so the private sector can flourish and create jobs. Taxing business out of existence doesn't help anything. But creating reliance on government is Chairman Maobamas goal.Should President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?
He and the Libs should listen to the American people, but he is so arrogant he thinks he knows what is best for the people., just like his bad Health Care billShould President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs? The indefinate extension of unemployment rights does nothing to incentivize a person to get off his rear and look for a job. You hit it out of the park with that quote.
What matters more to me is that while continually looking for a job, that a family is covered by unemployment insurance. Its more important that a family has that of whats needed minimally to survive.Should President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?he wrote that back in 2005 when the unemployment rate was 5.1 percent (see link below)

I don't think that his premises stand up to the current lack of jobs in the USA today when the rate is something like 10 percentShould President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?
There is no doubt that continuing to extend unemployment benefits extends unemployment. Anyone who disputes that is an idiot. The only argument is whether or not it is proper for the government to do it. I think it was Ben Franklin who said something to this effect "The best way to help people out of poverty is to make it uncomfortable to be poor"

As far as Summers goes, it is a virtual certainty that he will listen to Obama rather than the converse.
Calling extending unemployment benefits to hard working Americans "Welfare" is an insult to all hard-working Americans.

A lot of people are concerned about the Debt, including this guy and Obama.

Too bad your President wasn't - he charged up more Debt than any President before or since, Obama included. Why didn't you care then? You were too busy watching Fox TV who was saying "Debt is good, a week dollar is good, our markets are strong!"Should President Obama listen to his economic advisor Lawrence Summers, if he wants to create jobs?
Look at Obama record he doesn't want to create jobs he wants to create a communism regime.
He should listen but he never does. He thinks he has all the answers and that the rest of us are too stupid to make a decision. The economy is a mess; unemployment is out of sight and will stay that way for a long time. You can't have recovery if you aren't willing to do the right thing. Obama is STILL spending and still lying about how great his plans are. He is looking weaker by the day and is putting our Nation in terrible shape. He needs to be booted.
Obama has never been interested in lowering unemployment, destroying the economy and increasing the welfare population are his priorities.
It would not hurt any thing to listen.
That is silly. Yes, he does.
