How can Obama win a general election with this strategy?

Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he lost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why?How can Obama win a general election with this strategy? He has other good stuff .....coming soon. How can Obama win a general election with this strategy?
I don't see where he is promising these things. As far as negotiation with our enemies, the current plans of Bush's "my way or the highway" tactics don't work.

The taxes will be raised on the wealthy and not the poor and the middle class. Isn't that refreshing?

And as far as funding programs to the poor? In my opinion they were former tax payers and veterans who served their country at one time and churches can't carry all the burden.

The government owes them something in a down time.

Study history and politics as well as countries that supply health care and take care of their citizens. You may gain a new worldview !How can Obama win a general election with this strategy? He is able to come in with a good slogan and a lot of good ideas when he will become presidentHow can Obama win a general election with this strategy?
Right now people are mad at republicansHow can Obama win a general election with this strategy?Reality! We have been screwed over by the conservative agenda for the best part of 40 years and we have seen that it has not been good for most of us. BTW, he has not promised military weakness, nor has he promised to raise taxes for most of us. I suppose the reason he is ahead (you couldn't say that could you) in the polls it that most people can now see through the spin of the far right that has now been adopted by the Clinton campaign.
