Obama is talking about extending tax cuts for people who make less than $200,000. He is a rich man who gets income for being president and he gets royalties for his books. Do you know the difference between wealthy and rich? A-Rod is rich, but the guy that signs his check is wealthy. Incidentally, Obama is the first President to actually get a salary increase for becoming President. Financially speaking, he is the poorest person since Truman to ever become President. Most who become President are taking a pay cut by doing so (look up the Bush family wealth) because the President's salary is not that big by comparison to what others make in the U.S. with a ton less responsibility. For example, the President's salary is $400,000 a year. A two year veteran in the NFL makes more than that just by sitting on the bench. Yet the average teacher, policeman, or fireman makes about 10% of that. Yet, when someone wants to raise taxes to pay those folks that educate the future and save lives, everyone screams bloody murder. He was raised very privileged, not poor like he claims. Obama has his money in his home country, not in the USA, so it will not affect him, he wants the rich to pay more taxes, but he hides his own, just like who he really is. The rich invest, start companies and hire people, and Obama does not want America to prosper any more, so he wants to tax the rich high enough, that they can not do these things. Obama is NOT working for America and the people, he is working for our enemies.
And he just signed another book deal. I think that his supporters are ideologues and don't care what he does. It is about the cause and doesn't matter how it is accomplished. He can be rich as long as he brings down the USA.

i don't understand right wing logic. he is denouncing the wealthy by having the wealthy's taxes go up a little? huh? did you look up the definition of "denounce"? no wonder you guys seem to have disdain for education. i know, you'll have to look up the meaning of disdain.....
He is not giving himself a Tax Cut, because he makes more than $250,000, the President of the United States makes more than $400,000.

I wish I was paying as much taxes as the Obama's and riding around in Air Force One just for fun at the public's expense. I wouldn't mind at all, because I would know it would just mean I would get it all back anyway.

Indeed - he would personally pay more tax. But how does that equate to denouncing the wealthy?
uh yeah - obviously wealthier people have more money to put into tax. He doesn't care if his taxes go up or other wealthy people because he's doing it for the good of the people.
