IF Salzar and Obama knew all about the "corruption" and "short cuts" taken by the last administration, then shouldn't they have anticipated this problem?

If was in Federal waters, not in state waters. The problem dates back to 2005 when the Bush admin waived the requirement to have remote control shut off valves installed on deep water rigs. This would have fixed the problem completely, but BP didnt want to spend a half million on the equipment.... so Bush, Cheney and the oil boys waived it.



This spill reinforces the need for alternative energy - rethinking drilling domestically, and cap and trade. Virtually all are hallmarks of what the Obama admin wants to do.

Obama should put aside his petty finger pointing, and do the job he campaigned for and won!!! He knew perfectly well, OR! at least! he SHOULD have known, what he was in for if he became President!! Making CHANGES doesn't solve problems! They don't go away all by themselves! He is supposed to be big enough, and knowledgeable enough to handle any and all problems that he inherited when he accepted the job! It's obvious, he wasn't ready to take on the task.
